Biography

Jeff Thomas, an NDH Tax Partner, prides himself on two primary principles: his accessibility and providing honest and insightful feedback. As a tax generalist, Jeff’s client list is quite expansive, ranging from twenty-something-year-old tech entrepreneurs to ninety-something-year-old retirees. Jeff has proven to have the breadth of knowledge his clients demand at a value they deserve.

While describing himself as a tax generalist, Jeff has established a deep understanding in several areas to better service his clients. Specifically, Jeff has extensive experience consulting for clients with various stock options and equity awards. This level of expertise allows him to partner with his clients and their respective wealth advisors to navigate the complex rules proactively and confidently. His goal is to help educate his clients so they can make informed decisions consistent with their investment strategies.

Jeff also has a long history of working with expatriates and foreign nationals. With the help of his talented colleagues, Jeff has worked with countless clients navigating the technical laws on foreign taxation while maintaining the global perspective they truly value. When coupled with increasing IRS scrutiny, Jeff’s ability to simplify these nuanced rules provides his clients the comfort of knowing that they are fully compliant.

Practicing since 2005, Jeff has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and a master’s of science in taxation from DePaul University.

When not in the office, Jeff is either chasing after, or being chased by, his three crazy kids. As his wife will quickly tell you, he also spends far too many hours riding his bike, frequently trying to squeeze in another century ride before the kid’s basketball, soccer, swimming, baseball, gymnastics…
